2026 Chevy Equinox vs. 2026 Hyundai Tucson: Which Compact SUV Is Right for You?

If you're shopping for a compact SUV and narrowing your options, the 2026 Chevy Equinox vs. 2026 Hyundai Tucson comparison is one worth exploring carefully. Both vehicles offer versatility, modern tech, and family-friendly features - but they approach the segment in some noticeably different ways. Here's a closer look at how they stack up so you can make a confident decision.

Performance and Capability

The 2026 Chevy Equinox is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. Available all-wheel drive gives drivers added traction when conditions call for it, and the Equinox can tow up to 1,500 pounds when properly equipped. A standard Drive Mode Selector helps you adapt to changing road conditions with ease.

The Hyundai Tucson also offers a turbocharged four-cylinder option, along with hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants. For buyers who prioritize everyday efficiency and output, both SUVs are competitive - but Equinox's straightforward powertrain setup keeps things simple and reliable.

Technology and Infotainment

Inside the 2026 Chevy Equinox, you'll find an 11.3-inch diagonal infotainment touchscreen as a standard feature. It supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with OnStar connectivity and available wireless phone charging. Voice commands let you access apps, music, maps, and messages while keeping your eyes on the road.

The Tucson comes with a respectable infotainment system, but the Equinox's large standard touchscreen gives it an edge in usability right out of the box without having to move up in trim.

Safety Features

The 2026 Chevy Equinox includes more than 15 standard safety and driver assistance features, including the Chevy Safety Assist package. That package covers Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, IntelliBeam, and Following Distance Indicator. Available features include HD Surround Vision, Side Bicyclist Alert, and Rear Cross Traffic Braking.

The Tucson also comes well-equipped on the safety front, but the breadth of standard features on the Equinox means you get meaningful protection without having to shop up the trim ladder.

Interior Space and Comfort

Both SUVs seat five passengers and offer competitive cargo space. The 2026 Chevy Equinox provides practical storage solutions for everyday life, whether you're hauling groceries around Brook Park, OH or packing for a weekend trip. The Equinox LT comes standard with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel - features that are genuinely useful in Ohio winters.

The Tucson interior is well-designed and comfortable, though some of its best comfort and convenience features are reserved for higher trims.

Trim Options and Value

The 2026 Chevy Equinox is available in LT, RS, and ACTIV trims, each with its own personality. The LT is a strong all-around value with upscale standard features. The RS adds sporty styling details like black mirrors and emblems, while the ACTIV is geared toward drivers who want an adventure-ready look with all-terrain tires and a uniquely tuned suspension. The Tucson offers solid trim variety as well, but the Equinox lineup covers a wide range of lifestyles without a significant price jump between levels.

Which SUV Is Right for You?

When it comes to the 2026 Chevy Equinox vs. 2026 Hyundai Tucson, the right answer depends on what matters most to you. If you want a spacious, tech-forward compact SUV with an impressive list of standard safety features and a large touchscreen right from the base trim, the 2026 Chevy Equinox is a hard offer to pass up. Drivers in Brook Park, OH can explore the full Equinox lineup and find the trim that fits their lifestyle at Ken Ganley Chevrolet Brook Park. Stop by or visit us to learn more.

Prepare Your Chevy for Fall Driving in NE Ohio

How to Prepare Your Chevy for Fall Driving in Northeast Ohio Fall in Northeast Ohio arrives fast, and with it comes cooler temperatures, wet leaves, and the first hints of frost. Knowing how to prepare your Chevy for fall driving in Northeast Ohio can make a real difference in your safety and your vehicle's performance once the season shifts. A little proactive attention now goes a long way before winter conditions set in. Why Fall Vehicle Prep Matters in Northeast Ohio Northeast Ohio weather can be unpredictable. Temperatures can swing dramatically in October and November, putting extra stress on your Chevy's systems. Taking the time to address seasonal Chevy maintenance before the cold really hits helps you avoid breakdowns and keeps your vehicle running smoothly when road conditions are at their most challenging. Check Your Tires and Brakes Tires are your first line of defense on slick autumn roads covered in wet leaves or early frost. Inspect your tread depth and look for uneven wear. If your Chevy's tires are getting thin, fall is the right time to replace them. It is also a good idea to check tire pressure, since cooler temperatures cause pressure to drop. While you are at it, have your brakes inspected. Responsive brakes are critical when roads get slippery in Northeast Ohio. Test Your Battery and Electrical System Cold weather is tough on batteries, and the transition from summer heat to fall chill can push a weakened battery over the edge. Have your battery tested to make sure it holds a proper charge. Ask a technician to inspect the terminals for corrosion as well. Your Chevy's alternator and charging system should also be checked to confirm everything is working as it should heading into the colder months. Inspect Fluids and Filters Fall is an excellent time to review all of your Chevy's essential fluids. Coolant, brake fluid, and windshield washer fluid all play important roles in cool-weather performance. Make sure your antifreeze is at the correct concentration to handle the temperatures common to Brook Park, OH. Engine oil should be at the right level and viscosity for fall conditions. Replacing a clogged cabin air filter is another simple step that improves defroster performance when you need it most. Review Lights and Visibility Daylight hours shrink significantly in the fall, which means you will be driving in the dark more often. Check that all of your exterior lights are working properly, including headlights, taillights, and turn signals. Inspect your windshield wipers and replace them if they are streaking or skipping. Good visibility during rainy autumn evenings in Northeast Ohio is essential, and a fresh set of wiper blades is one of the easiest Chevy maintenance upgrades you can make. Putting Dreams in Driveways

Ken Ganley Chevrolet Brook Park Celebrates Jason Rush: 20 Years of Dedication and 50 Cars for 50 Years At Ken Ganley Chevrolet Brook Park, we know that a dealership is only as strong as the people who make up its team. Over the years, we have been fortunate to have sales professionals who build lasting relationships with customers, support their coworkers and make a real difference in the dealership community. Jason Rush is one of those people. After approximately 20 years at Ken Ganley Chevrolet Brook Park, Jason has become one of the most accomplished members of our sales team. He has consistently ranked among the top five sales professionals across the Ken Ganley organization throughout his career and has finished as the organization's No. 1 salesperson for the past four years. This year, he added another accomplishment to that impressive career: 50 vehicles sold during his 50th birthday month. And while that milestone deserves plenty of recognition, there is much more to Jason's story than a sales number. From Construction to Chevrolet Sales Jason's career did not begin in automotive sales. Before joining the dealership world, he spent approximately six years working in construction. A friend and former colleague, Dan Zegarac , eventually encouraged Jason to give automotive sales another opportunity. Jason had briefly worked at another dealership and was ready to move on from the industry, but that recommendation brought him to Ken Ganley Chevrolet. Two decades later, he is still here. What began as a career change turned into a long-term career defined by customer relationships, hard work and a commitment to doing things his own way. Jason Rush: A Different Kind of Sales Professional Ask Jason about his approach to selling cars, and he is quick to explain that he doesn't really think of himself as a traditional car salesman. His focus is on solving problems. Jason believes the best way to help someone find the right vehicle is to listen first. Rather than immediately trying to steer a customer toward a particular vehicle, he takes the time to understand what the person actually needs. That philosophy has become a major part of his success at Ken Ganley Chevrolet Brook Park. Jason often describes his work as helping “put dreams in driveways.” For him, the rewarding part of the job is knowing that he helped someone find a vehicle that makes their life easier, meets their needs or represents something they have worked toward. That customer-first mindset has also helped him build something that can't be measured by a single month's sales numbers: relationships that continue long after the paperwork is signed. Customers Who Come Back to Jason One of the clearest signs of Jason's success is the number of customers who return to work with him again. Repeat business and referrals have played a major role throughout his career, and Jason puts a lot of effort into staying connected with customers even when they aren't actively shopping for a vehicle. He is also known for spending time around our service department, talking with customers about their vehicles and simply making himself available. A conversation during a service visit may eventually lead to a future vehicle purchase, but Jason's goal is not to turn every interaction into a sale. It's about being there. That consistency has helped turn customers into repeat customers, referrals and, in some cases, lifelong friends. 50 Cars for His 50th Birthday Then came August. On August 1, Jason decided to give himself a rather ambitious birthday challenge: sell 50 vehicles during the month he turned 50. It wasn't a goal he had been planning for months. He simply decided at the beginning of the month that he wanted to see if he could do it—and then went to work. By the time he reached the later part of August, Jason had already sold approximately 35 vehicles. But getting from 35 to 50 proved to be the difficult part. Back-to-school season brought its usual challenges, and the final stretch of the month tested Jason's determination. By the last day, he was exhausted and had reached the point where he considered calling it a night. Instead, he stayed. With the dealership's regular closing time already behind him, Jason continued working with customers and ultimately sold his 50th vehicle at approximately 8:30 p.m. He had done it. 50 vehicles. 50 years. One unforgettable birthday challenge. More Than a Sales Number At Ken Ganley Chevrolet Brook Park, we are proud of Jason's 50-car accomplishment, but what makes the milestone especially meaningful is everything that came before it. For approximately two decades, Jason has shown up, worked hard and continued to challenge himself. His consistency has helped him remain among the top five sales professionals in the Ken Ganley organization throughout his career, while his performance over the past four years has placed him at the top. His success isn't based on a complicated formula. Jason listens. He treats people with respect. He follows through. And he works to find solutions. Those principles have served him well with customers and have helped him establish the kind of reputation that leads people to send their friends and family his way. Family Is at the Center of It All Behind all of Jason's accomplishments is something even more important to him: family. Jason's commitment to family extends well beyond the walls of the dealership. He even bought his mom a house right across the street from his own home, keeping her close while giving her a place of her own. Today, one of his favorite parts of his morning is seeing his mom greet him from across the street before he heads to work. He also bought his daughter a house two doors down, keeping his family close and making them an important part of his everyday life. What Jason Does When He's Not Selling Cars Although much of Jason's time is spent at Ken Ganley Chevrolet Brook Park, he has plenty of interests outside the dealership. He enjoys traveling, customizing vehicles and collecting shoes. And when we say collecting shoes, we mean collecting shoes. Jason has approximately 300 pairs in a dedicated room at home. His interest in footwear is even noticeable at the dealership, where his shoes are often coordinated with what he's wearing. His passion for cars also extends beyond his career. Jason enjoys customizing vehicles and putting his own personal touch on them. Between selling cars, working with customers and keeping up with everything outside of work, Jason estimates that he can walk 20,000 to 25,000 steps in a day at the dealership. That might explain some of his energy. We're Proud to Have Jason on Our Team Twenty years is a long time to build a career at one dealership, and Jason Rush has made those years count. From his early days in construction to becoming one of the top sales professionals in the Ken Ganley organization, Jason has built his career around hard work, relationships and a genuine desire to help people. His 50-car birthday achievement is an incredible addition to that story, but it is only one chapter. At Ken Ganley Chevrolet Brook Park, we're proud to have Jason as part of our team and proud of the reputation he has built with our customers over the years. Congratulations, Jason, on 50 cars for 50 years —and here's to many more years of putting dreams in driveways. If you're looking for your next Chevrolet in Brook Park, OH, visit Ken Ganley Chevrolet and ask for Jason Rush. He'll be ready to listen, help you find the right vehicle and, as always, find a solution.
