Jason Rush: 20 Years of Putting Dreams in Driveways at Ken Ganley Chevrolet Brook Park
For more than 20 years, Jason Rush has built his career at Ken Ganley Chevrolet Brook Park by doing more than selling vehicles. He listens to his customers, understands what they need, and works to solve problems. That approach has helped Jason become one of the most successful sales professionals in the Ken Ganley organization, earning a spot among the organization's top five salespeople throughout his career and ranking as the organization's top salesperson for the past four years.
In August, Jason set a personal goal that was fitting for his 50th birthday: sell 50 vehicles in one month. What started as a personal challenge on August 1 became a month-long test of determination, and Jason ultimately reached his goal on the final day of the month.
“I feel like I put dreams in driveways, because I make people happy. I solve problems.”
50 Cars for 50 Years
To celebrate his 50th birthday, Jason set a personal goal for August: sell 50 vehicles during his 50th birthday month. He made the decision at the beginning of the month and immediately got to work toward the challenge.
Jason entered the final weeks of August with approximately 35 vehicles sold and continued building on that total throughout the month. While reaching 50 required a strong finish, Jason stayed focused on the goal and continued working with his customers through the end of the month.
50 Vehicles Sold. One Personal Goal Achieved.
By the end of August, Jason had accomplished what he set out to do: 50 vehicles sold during his 50th birthday month.
The achievement is another example of the personal goals and high standards Jason has set throughout his career at Ken Ganley Chevrolet Brook Park. After 20 years in automotive sales and four consecutive years leading the Ganley organization in annual sales, reaching this milestone added another memorable accomplishment to his career.
For Jason, the 50-car goal was about challenging himself and following through. It was a fitting way to celebrate 50 years while continuing to do what he has done throughout his career—help customers find the right vehicle and put more dreams in driveways.
Building Relationships That Last Beyond the Sale
For Jason, a successful car sale is not necessarily the end of a customer relationship. Many of his customers return to him when they are ready for another vehicle, and referrals have become an important part of his business.
Jason also makes a point of staying active in the dealership's service department. Rather than remaining behind his desk, he regularly walks through the service area, greeting customers and talking with them about their vehicles. Some customers may see Jason several times before they ever purchase another vehicle from him.
That consistent presence has helped create relationships that can last for years. Jason recalled customers who eventually returned to the dealership specifically to find him because they remembered the salesperson who had taken the time to talk with them during previous visits to service.
A Customer Relationship That Became Family
One of the relationships that stands out most to Jason is his friendship with Angela Carson and her family. What began as a customer relationship developed into a genuine friendship, and Angela has become one of Jason's strongest sources of referrals.
Jason explained that Angela has referred people to him even when those individuals were not necessarily looking for a vehicle themselves. Her confidence in Jason's ability to help has extended to her family and friends, creating a relationship that goes well beyond a traditional dealership transaction.
“I just set personal goals, and I try to achieve them.”
A Career Built on Consistency
Reaching 50 vehicles in one month was an extraordinary accomplishment, but it is also a reflection of the consistency Jason has demonstrated throughout his career. He has remained among the top five salespeople in the Ken Ganley organization for his entire 20-year career and has been the organization's top salesperson for the past four years.
Jason does not describe his success as being about one particular sales technique. His strategy remains remarkably consistent: talk to every customer, treat everyone with respect, listen to what they have to say, and make sure they have a positive experience.
That philosophy has helped him build a career based on repeat business, referrals and relationships rather than one-time transactions.
More Than a Salesman
While Jason spends much of his time helping customers find their next Chevrolet, there is plenty more to know about him outside the dealership.
Jason enjoys traveling, customizing cars and collecting shoes. His shoe collection includes approximately 300 pairs, displayed throughout a dedicated room in his home. His attention to style also shows up at the dealership, where he is known for coordinating his shoes with his outfits.
He also enjoys customizing vehicles, giving him another way to combine his passion for cars with his creativity.
